Live Worldwide Broadcasts: Internet Webcast & Radio

Citizens across the nation and globe will be able to experience the upcoming income tax hearing live by either radio or an internet webcast being produced by the We The People Foundation.

These preparations will ensure that  Americans everywhere will have full, "gavel-to-gavel" access to the 2-day public hearing on Capitol Hill. The Foundation has decided to invest in live and uncut broadcasts to ensure that full public access to the hearing and evidence is available  to all people. "We cannot depend on the dominant media to provide full coverage of this important event," said Bob Schulz, Chairman of the Foundation.

Live Radio:  Live, gavel-to-gavel radio coverage will be uploaded to commercial satellites where radio networks and individual radio stations can download the audio feed at no charge, and without limitation for rebroadcast or redistribution.  Radio hosts will make short commentaries at the bottom of each hour and at noon and 3 p.m. each day to provide listeners and talk-show hosts a way to "catch up" as the hearing unfolds.

A number of radio outlets will rebroadcast their feeds as internet "simulcasts" and/or worldwide short wave radio broadcast.  Specific satellite uplink/channel data will be made available before the hearing on: www.givemeliberty.org.  We encourage all citizens to contact their local radio stations and request that this event be covered.

Live Webcast:   A fully enhanced "gavel-to-gavel" internet webcast will be the only source of live, full-hearing video coverage of the hearing.  The 2-day webcast will be distributed as a low priced "pay-per-view" event accessible by a securely purchased password.  The web cast production itself will feature real-time viewing and printing of evidence items (documents, regulations, etc.), expert commentaries, short spots highlighting the tax researchers & tax issues and full video/audio coverage from the hearing room.

We have made the necessary contractual provisions to ensure a high-quality, large bandwidth transmission to virtually any number of participants around the globe.  Viewers may select either the 56k version or a high speed ISDN/cable version.  On-line, secure credit card purchases of the webcast will begin before September 1st on www.givemeliberty.org.

Special consideration has been made to develop and package low-cost CD-ROM and VHS versions of the hearing.  The CD-ROM version will feature video as the hearing was broadcast and have functionalities similar to many DVD movie disks.  Included on the disks will be viewable/printable evidence and electronic versions of backup evidence and documents that were not directly shown or broadcast at the hearings.

A special low-cost (limited quantity) "patriot" subscriber package will be available that combines the webcast, the CD-ROM set, a full transcript of the hearing, and a certificate personally signed by Bob Schulz.  Please consider purchasing the webcast as early as possible to help We The People to finance the significant costs needed to present this historic hearing.

Status of Hearing Preparations

Significant progress is being made to advance the hearing.  Teams of tax researchers continue to refine and document the areas of inquiry and compile the needed evidence.  A secure, private internet site has been deployed to facilitate communications and the compilation of questions, backup evidence and documents.  Nationwide conference calls involving team participants continue on an ongoing basis.

After meeting with several interested attorneys in Atlanta last week, Bob Schulz has orchestrated changes in the composition, roles and relationships of attorneys on the team.  Research and screening of additional legal resources to support specific inquiry areas is ongoing and should be completed soon.

Bob Schulz and Mike Bodine visited Congressman Bartlett's office last Thursday and received additional assurances from his staff concerning the participation of the IRS and DOJ in the upcoming hearing.  The Congressman's press secretary is making arrangements for a meeting of the principals immediately upon  their return from the August break, a public announcement by the congressman and a point of contact for all engineering and information technology personnel concerned with hearing logistics (webcast, radio, microphones, electrical power, permits, etc.)

Because of the number of people that have expressed an interest in attending the hearing and because of the technical requirements the Congressman's staff suggested an alternative to hearing room 311, which is in the Cannon House Office Building.  The Science and Technology Committee hearing room (Rayburn House Office Building), was inspected.  This hearing room may be better suited for our requirements given the large amount of hi-tech equipment installed and available in that room to support the webcast, radio broadcast, evidence presentation, etc.  This room could comfortably hold approximately 2.5 times the number of participants and spectators as room 311.

Representatives from both Congressman Bartlett's office and Congressman Ron Paul's office confirmed that they have been inundated with inquiries about the hearing.  There appears to be a very large interest in attending the hearing, including a single group of 600 hundred people planning to travel from Arizona.  It was suggested that we consider simulcast viewings in auditoriums or other facilities on Capitol Hill.

These discussions lead to shared and legitimate concerns with Bartlett's office about the downside risks of having our hearing during the week of the  IMF-World Bank meeting in D.C. Congressman Bartlett's aide recalled that the last time the IMF met in Washington, things "got ugly" due to public protests in the streets.  Bob Schulz shares this concern for the safety of Foundation supporters during the tax hearing as well as lesser concerns such as diluted media coverage, the potential to easily "smear" the tax movement via association with likely IMF protests, the distractions of the late-September budget battles and growing limitations of hotel/air availability as the hearing nears.  Bartlett's office has committed to address the schedule and work with the Foundation this week.  Schedule changes, if any will be posted ASAP.

Roland Croteau to "Hit-the-Road"

Roland Croteau, the Oklahoma businessman who fasted with Bob in Washington, will soon begin a limited road tour to bring awareness of the hearing to the general public.

The trailer and signs pulled by Bob and Roland through the streets of Washington are being replaced with new messages announcing the hearing.

Roland is working with several WTP volunteers to coordinate travel plans and public stops.  His tentative plans keep him mostly in the Northeast, ending up in D.C. the weekend before the 9/25 hearing.

The Freedom rally tour will begin Sunday, September 9th in Albany, NY.  New Yorkers should contact Roland at 580-837-5629 ( email tower@ptsi.net)  or Martelle Greene at 201-825-3643.  Interested patriots can organize and set the meeting place.  Roland will need the "where" (and how to find it) and the time. They can also contact local chapters of the VFW, all freedom minded people or groups (put an ad in the paper, etc.) their churches and are encouraged to contact the local media for coverage.

Tentative stops (subject to change/interest levels) are: heading east to Montpelier, VT. #2, then over to Concorde, NH (#3). Up to Portland or Augusta, ME.(#4), down to the Boston area of MA.(#5), on to Hartford, CT. (which is close enough for Rhode Islanders)(#6), over to Newark, NJ area (#7), over to western Penn. perhaps Allentown area or Harrisburg, PA (#8), down to Charleston, WV (#9) to Richmond, VA (#10) and finish at the Baltimore MD. area (#11).  Final destination is Washington D.C.(#12), around 9/23.

Schulz Distances Tax Honesty Movement from Violent Threats

Bob Schulz, Chairman of We The People Foundation, Congressman Bartlett and several tax researchers have recently received an anonymous letter (signed by "The Ghosts of the Revolution"), which threatens IRS employees and warns  citizens to avoid IRS facilities beginning September 1st.  These letters have been turned over to the FBI and most, if not all of the recipients, including Schulz, have been interviewed by agents from the Treasury Department and the FBI.

Schulz has taken pride in the fact that the Foundation's educational efforts have been professional, intelligent and rational and, in the tradition of Ghandi and King, have been part of a pro-active, non-violent mass- movement. He is very concerned about threats to the health and well being of the people who work at and visit these facilities. "Nobody wants to see anyone hurt or any facilities damaged for furtherance of any cause," said Schulz. "The integrity, credibility and future of the tax honesty movement  will suffer if some person or organization commits an act of violence against the IRS and then calls the government or the press to take credit for the violent act, while purporting to be a member of the tax honesty movement. Many people and organizations, including the government itself, tax preparation firms, CPAs and tax attorneys have a vested interest in the status quo. Presumably, they would like to see an end to the tax honesty movement's efforts to get the government to publicly address allegations of the fraudulent and illegal operations of the tax system. Discontent breeds change, but change breeds discontent."
