WE THE PEOPLE VOLUNTEERS

Would there be a United States of America today if there had not been the pamphlet entitled, "Common Sense," written by Thomas Paine and distributed by volunteers to households throughout the thirteen colonies, and the distribution of countless other pamphlets and fliers by volunteers?

The pamphlets provided knowledge that most people were not getting from any other source, knowledge about the rights of man, about liberty, about the way government should work and about what was going on in government. Commercial newspapers were not interested in educating the people in this way. Nor was the government, itself, interested in creating a knowledgeable public. After all, knowledge is power.

The bulk of the people were never active at the critical points of history. The critical points of history were when a few people got together and decided to do something, such as the Patrick Henry’s, Tom Jefferson’s, George Washington’s, the pamphleteers -- and the volunteers who distributed the pamphlets to the people to "get the word out."

Today, we the people have a government that has gotten so far out of control that our republican principles are collapsing and with them, the rule of law. People need to know what is going on. We cannot rely on existing media outlets. They appear too interested in quoting "officialdom." We cannot rely on government’s information channels. We need no more proof of this than the fact that our government failed in every respect to let the people know that the constitutional convention question was to appear on the New York statewide ballot in 1997 – and what that could mean with respect to the preservation, protection and enhancement of the people’s liberty and freedom from the unrestrained acts of government.

With this in mind the We The People organization is looking for volunteers - people who wish to help us help people to become better informed about:

  • their rights under their State and federal constitutions.
  • how to find out what is really going on in government.
  • how to professionally, intelligently and rationally confront government when it steps outside the boundary the people have placed around its power.

From time to time our volunteers will be asked to pitch in on one task or another. Their conscience is then their quide.

People can enlist in the effort simply by filling out our ONLINE VOLUNTEER FORM.
